Saturday night's benefit for Tom Clark in Austin was a delightful success. Hoa and I were honored that the local community came out to support our efforts to raise money. Heartfelt thanks go out again to Twelfth Street Books, Interbirth, Kadar Koli, and Effing. David Hadbawnik read work and arrived with the latest issue of Kadar Koli. Micah Robbins, Luke Bilbury, Scott Pierce, and David all donated sales to Clark.
Thanks also to former Clark student Marica Roberts for making the drive up from San Antonio. We sold books along with the whisky and beer. Robert Bertholf made a quick appearance along with the Dos Press duo--Chris Martin and Julia Drescher--who donated Dos sales that night to Clark.

Austin artists Philip Trussell and R. J. Oehler donated paintings to auction along with numerous broadsides of Clark poems shown in the picture above.

I read from the Effing Press publication of Clark's work, Threnody.

Here our children entertain the crowd.
Thanks again to everyone who came out and contributed. And thanks to you all outside Austin who have shown your support this week. It's an honor to work within such a generous community.
